“The Philharmonia Orchestra recently hired the Desbande Quintet to accompany a post-concert Argentine Tango workshop at the Royal Festival Hall. Throughout the planning and delivery of the project, the quintet was a delight to work with. The sound amplification for the workshop was complex and Bryan was very helpful in explaining what the quintet needed, even liaising directly with the venue to make sure nothing was missed.
On the day, the members of the quintet were enthusiastic and ready to deal with a fluctuating schedule, as is the nature of these events. Having musicians specialised in tango to accompany the workshop made such a difference to the overall experience for our audience members. There was a brilliant energy in the room – we might as well have been in Buenos Aires! The quintet were ready to play everyone into the workshop, and set the scene marvellously.
